After a 35-day stalemate over funding for a U.S.-Mexico border wall partially shut down the U.S. government, congressional Democrats are advancing their proposals for addressing problems with the nation’s immigration system. The Democrat-led U.S. House of Representatives will begin work next week to protect hundreds of thousands of immigrants left in legal limbo by Trump administration policy.
